Gravy—How Hard Can it Be? |

Written by From the Walls Cookbook, pub. 1999 Soon after we were married, Ed and I thought we would have biscuits and gravy one night for supper (my breakfast cooking consisted of pop tarts). I didn’t think it could be so difficult but I never did cook as a kid. I baked a lot but never cooked. I did know that gravy required flour and milk, I just didn’t know the measurements. Ed stepped in and said, “How hard can it be; a cup of milk and a cup of flour.” I knew this couldn’t be right but Ed persisted so we proceeded to make the gravy. The thicker it got, the more milk we decided to add. It seems like we added a gallon of milk by the time it was edible! We were so proud, gravy for the whole neighborhood! 1/11/2001 9:27:26 AM |
