Jiggle That Thang

Dad (Lloyd Walls) and Glen on a 1962 trip out west to see relatives. Mom never took a picture of an outhouse on purpose, but for some reason snapped this one of the modern version. Outhouses weren’t without their problems but they sure were simple.

Paula and I frequently visit our son, Tom, and his family who live in the Kansas City area. On a recent trip Tom had apparently made several trips into the guest bathroom, after our use of it, to unstick the float and stop the commode from running.

Later, when he saw me going into the bathroom again he said, “Dad, when you’re done in there--jiggle that thang!” After I finished my business and saw Tom in the kitchen I said, “That was sure good advice and it did keep my underwear drier. By the way—I think your stool’s still running!”
